The default Minecraft skin is one of the most commonly used features of the launcher. These skins are offered as replacements for the game’s default ones—that is, skins that are often disliked due to their basic, unoriginal, and unrepresentative appearance.

  1. Open the Minecraft Launcher.
  2. Click the “New Skin” button.
  3. A window will open. First, give your skin a name (for example, “My Awesome Skin”).
  4. Then choose the model type:

    • Slim (Alex model, with thinner arms).
      It’s important to choose the model that matches your skin’s .png file so it displays correctly.
  5. Click “Browse” to locate the .png skin file on your computer. Minecraft skins are flat images in .png format.
